Folsom HVAC Home Inspections

HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) Home Inspections

Our typical home inspection concern is that the condition of the HVAC system in you house may be going out. If  your HVAC system is going out then having a home inspector come in and take a look may be a good idea. Home Inspectors find improperly installed HVAC systems all the time. It is very common for a Home Inspector will find a HVAC system that the system may fail and cause fire or water damage to a home.

  • Just a few common questions about HVAC

How does a heating, air conditioning and ventilation (HVAC) system work? The thermostat will turn on the unit which will draw air through the return ducts to the unit to be heated or cooled.  It will then be forced back through the ducts as warm or cool air.

Is going with a bigger A/C System better than a smaller one? Usually not, a unit too large or too small will  be inefficient and could cause problems.

How can I save money on my heating and air conditioning?

  • Keeping your system in good working order by having routine maintenance.
  • Clean filters regularly.
  • Keeping your outdoor unit free of debris.
  • Seal duct work and repair if necessary.
  • Upgrade equipment twelve years or older.  Ultra High Efficiency Equipment can save you as much as 30- 40% or more and improve the comfort of your home.
  • Old or new, there are so many different things you can do to save money on  your next bill! They’re definitely worth the small amount of time and expense they take, because in the long run, they’ll save you money.

Can I run my air conditioner all year long? You can run the air conditioner as long as both the outside and inside temperatures are above 60 degrees.

What size unit do I need for my room? The only way to know for sure what size system you need is to have a load calculation done by one of our professionals.  A load calculation is determined by the size of the room, size of the windows, amount of insulation and type of building materials such as siding, flooring, roofing, ect.
